In the spring, we posted a video of the wall of our house. A hose, a holder, thirty seconds. It was viewed seven million times. Our videos have now reached over 19 million views in total – for an item that nobody normally gives a second thought.
We have spent a long time thinking about why this is. The most honest explanation is probably the simplest: almost everyone knows that spot on the house wall where the hose hangs. And almost no one likes it.
The detail you only see once someone points it out
Terraces are planned down to the last detail. The tiles, the joints, the lighting, the planters. And then, right next to them, hangs a tangle of green plastic on a painted sheet-metal hook.
Nobody notices this as long as nobody points it out. That is exactly what happens in our videos – and that is why they work. Not because a hose holder is exciting, but because people think of their own house wall at that very moment.
What 139 euros makes a difference to in a hose holder
We know how the price comes across. In most people's minds, a hose holder is an item for fifteen to twenty-five euros. We realize that we are exceeding this threshold, and we believe that in that case, one should also explain why.

These are not promises, but measurements. You can measure them yourself when the package arrives.
The calculation we made ourselves
Before we started, we had three holders from the hardware store. All three broke on us – one due to frost, two due to rust at the weld. This resulted in a calculation that everyone can understand for themselves:

Whether a 25-euro holder actually lasts four years is something everyone has to judge for themselves. Ours didn't. The point of the calculation is not that we are cheaper – but that the difference over the years is smaller than it appears on the day of purchase.
What we do not promise
Honestly: for a garden where the hose lies in the corner anyway and doesn't bother anyone, our holder is too expensive. It is worth it if the wall it hangs on means something to you.
Three minutes, two screws
Hold it up, drill, screw it tight, hang the hose. There is no spring, no gear, no mechanism that could fail. This is the second reason why we insist on solid material: if it doesn't have anything that can break, it doesn't break.
